Emre Ergene, 1999 yılında Orta Doğu Teknik Üniversitesi,
Endüstri Ürünleri Tasarımı Bölümü’nden mezun oldu.
1999-2001 yılları arasında sırasıyla Fora İletişim’de arayüz
tasarımı ve İnfotron’da ürün tasarımı ile sanal prototipleme
üzerine çalıştı. 2003 yılında İsveç’te Umeå Institute of
Design’da İleri Ürün Tasarımı Bölümü’nde yüksek lisansını
tamamladı. Yüksek lisansına devam ettiği süre içinde
aralarında Konftel gibi isimlerin bulunduğu global firmalar
ile çalışma ve Hollanda’nın önemli tasarım ofislerinden
Springtime’da staj yapma imkanları buldu. Mezuniyet
sonrasında kısa bir süre enstitü bünyesinde bulunan
Interaction Design LAB’da görev alarak Umeå Kütüphanesi
ve İsveç hükümetinin desteklemiş olduğu görme engelliler
ile ilgili bir projede, deneyim prototipleme konusunda proje
geliştirdi. 2004-2009 yılları arasında DesignUM bünyesinde
çalıştı, bu süre içinde Türkiye’de sağlık, otomotiv, elektronik,
güvenlik ve küçük ev eşyaları gibi birçok farklı sektörde
hizmet veren sayılı markanın ürün geliştirme süreçlerinde
bulundu. 2009 yılından itibaren meslek hayatına serbest
tasarımcı olarak devam ediyor, ürün ve arayüz tasarımları
konularında tasarım danışmanlığı hizmeti veriyor.
Emre Ergene graduated form the Department of Industrial
Design at Middle East Tecnical University in 1999. Between
1999 and 2001, he worked on interface design in Fora
Communications, and product design and virtual prototyping
in Infotron. In 2003, he received his master’s degree from
the Department of Advanced Product Design in the Umea
Institute of Design in Sweden. While studying for his master’s
degree, he had the opportunity to work for global companies
including Konftel, and the chance to do an internship in
Springtime, one of the most important design offices in
Holland. Soon after graduating, while he was working in
the Interaction Design LAB at the Institute, he developed a
project on experience prototyping for blind people, which was
supported by the Umea Library and the Swedish government.
From 2004 to 2009, he worked for DesignUM and during this
time, he was involved in the product development process
for many brands in a wide variety of sectors including health,
automotive, electronics, security and small household
appliances. Since 2009, he has continued to further his
career as a freelance designer, and also works as a
consultant on product and interface design.
