İkili bir tabure seti olan Oktopus, geleneksel zigon sehpayı
farklı bir form ve mantığa taşıyor. Basit bir geometrik oyunla,
iki adet aynı çap ve yükseklikte tabure üst üste gelerek, ikili
bir set oluşturuyor. Stüdyo evlerin çoğalması, mekanların
küçülmesi gibi etkilerle kullanıcılar küçük boyutta,
depolanabilir ve üst üste muhafaza edilebilir ürünleri tercih
ediyor. Oktopus da böyle bir ihtiyaca cevap verme kaygısıyla
tasarlandı. Kullanıcının ihtiyacına ve yorumuna göre farklı
görevler de gören Oktopus, özellikle kitap, telefon, abajur
gibi ürünleri koymak için yatak başlarında, ya da lobilerde
ve bekleme hollerinde oturma elemanlarının arasında
köşe sehpa olarak da kullanılabiliyor. Çok ayaklı görsel
etkisi karakterli bir duruş yaratırken, basit bir geometriden
türediği için yalınlığını koruyor. Üst üste depolandığı ve
kullanmadığı zaman bile, durduğu yerde bulunduğu mekana
görsel bir katkı sağlıyor. İç mimarlar Oktopus’ta farklı
ahşap kaplamalar, isteğe göre lake renkleri veya bunların
ikili kombinasyonlarını bir arada kullanarak, estetik açıdan
mekana imzalarını atabilecekleri farklılık yaratma fırsatı
bulabiliyorlar. Ayakların ışık ile etkileşiminde, zeminde
yarattığı gölge oyunları da yine yaratıcı bir elde görsel açıdan
daha ileriye taşınabiliyor. Mekanda heykelimsi bir obje gibi
durma özelliğini taşısa da, erişilebilirlik açısından sempatik
formu kullanıcıyı ürkütmemeyi öngörüyor.

The Oktopus is a double stool-side table set, which brings a
different approach and form to conventional nesting tables.
By playing with simple geometric forms, two of the same
stools with the same dimensions, can be stacked to make
a double set. Because of the increase in studio-type houses
and smaller living spaces available, users prefer products
which are stackable, storable and compact. This stool set
has been designed to answer such a need. In addition to its
use as a stool, it can also be used as a side table, according
to the needs and preferences of the user. It can be placed
as a side table near a bed head and used for books, mobile
phones, side lamps, or at the corners among seating units, in
lobbies and waiting rooms. The visual effect of multiple legs
has a distinguished profile while still keeping its simplicity
derived from basic geometric forms. When nested and not
in use, it still has a visual contribution to the space. With the
creativity of interior designers, it may come in different wood
veneers or desired lacquered colours, or a combination of
both. It allows designers the freedom to create their own
unique effects which are aesthetic and to which they can put
their signature. The visual interplay between light and the
legs of the product create shadows on the floor which, in
creative hands, can add a new dimension to the space. It has
a sculptural quality, but it does not appear as an untouchable,
inaccessible item in the space because of its friendly, inviting
form.
