SEKCJA EUROPY ŚRODKOWO-WSCHODNIEJ FCI | 119
of having two members of the FCI Supply Chain Committee, Mr. Selles
and Mr. Savin present the solution and developments in the industry in
the conference.
But even with a comeback to strong growth of the factoring industry
worldwide it is obvious that the CEE has not been able to ride this wave.
In 2015 many countries saw a decrease in volumes, with the exception
of Romania and Hungary that have been able to grow considerably. And
comparing the volumes and penetration levels to other EU countries, CEE
represents less than 5% of the volumes with Poland contributing 50% of
those volumes. If we add the volumes of Turkey and Russia as non EU
countries but members of the CEE Chapter but with important volumes
CEE still represents less than 10%. Penetrating levels in all CEE countries,
including Russia and Turkey, are considerably below the EU average, standing
at 10,16%, which does show there is room to grow in the future and
as the markets mature, to catch up with EU levels.
We are especially confidant that with developing new products that
have been introduced in many EU countries and have started to pick up
in CEE the process of catching up will beneficially impact the factoring
industry in the coming years. This is where FCI sees it role in bringing
best practices from mature markets worldwide and even more importantly
CEE countries that were able to successfully implement them. These
experiences are highly valuable to many members of the CEE community
as they often help explain problems that can be encountered and make
implementations faster and easier.
As we are now a much stronger community with more than 400 members
we will try to generate the knowledge and experiences also from other
regional chapter and other committees where the Education Committee of
FCI plays a special role in bringing the knowledge to our members.
We are also focusing on working closer with local factoring associations
as this is where the local knowledge is generated and we can also help in
solving the many problems that our industry faces. And this is exactly
where the role of the Polish Factoring Association is very important for the
CEE Regional Chapter. Being the most mature and the biggest market in
CEE, Polish factors are benchmarks to many of our members and Polish
members are important contributors in sharing knowledge and experiences
with other CEE members and it is our intention to further develop our
existing cooperation in the coming years.
