The majority <strong>of</strong> people attend<strong>in</strong>g the conference agreed that the options for deal<strong>in</strong>g <strong>with</strong> <strong>sal<strong>in</strong>ity</strong> are currently<br />
available, and the proportion <strong>of</strong> people hold<strong>in</strong>g this sentiment <strong>in</strong>creased by 10 per cent by the end <strong>of</strong> the<br />
conference (see figure below).<br />

The results graphed below show that the costs <strong>of</strong> implementation are the greatest deterrent to the uptake <strong>of</strong><br />
suitable options for <strong>sal<strong>in</strong>ity</strong>. This is closely followed by uncerta<strong>in</strong> outcomes. Factors that were the least<br />
limit<strong>in</strong>g were local support and government regulation. Less people believed that <strong>in</strong>sufficient government<br />
assistance was a limit<strong>in</strong>g factor at the end <strong>of</strong> the conference (50% <strong>in</strong> the first survey; 31% <strong>in</strong> second<br />
