and any pilot refusing or neglecting so to do, or aiding in<br />

landing any passenger or other person contrary to this<br />

code, shall forfeit one hundred dollars for every offence.<br />

Art. 10. All persons other than those who have paid<br />

hospital money, who may be conveyed to the quarantine<br />

hospital shall be liable to pay for the expenses of their attendance<br />

and support, to be recovered in the name of the<br />

said hospital, or said board of health.<br />

CHAP. IV.<br />

Of the suras to be paid by each vessel and person arriving" in the<br />

ports ot Pensaeola and St. Augustine.<br />

Art. 1. Every vessel arriving by sea from any part of<br />

the United States or from the ports of Spain, or her colonies<br />

direct, laden only with the productions of Spanish<br />

growth or manufactories, shall pay—viz.—If of one<br />

hundred and sixty tons or upwards, six dollars; if under<br />

one hundred and sixty and above one hundred tons, five<br />

dollars, if under one?i>undred tons, three dollars, for every<br />

voyage, excepting the -vessels from the States of Louisiana,<br />

Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina and<br />

South Carolina, shall not pay oftener than once in three<br />

months.<br />

Art. 2. Every vessel arriving from any other port,<br />

shall pay, if of one hundred and sixty tons or upwards,<br />

ten dollars, if under one hundred ahd« sixty tons and<br />

above one hundred, six dollars; if under one hundred<br />

tons, threedollars.<br />

Art. 3. Every master of a vessel arriving by sea from<br />

a port in the United States; snalf pay for himself one and<br />

a half dollars; for every seaman or steerage passenger,<br />

one dollar; and if arriving from any other port for himself<br />

and every cabin passenger, two dollars each; for every<br />

seaman and steerage passenger, one and a "half dollar<br />

each; all which sums shall be paid by -the master or consignee<br />

of such vessel fo» the secretary of the board of<br />

health, or such other person as they may appoint; and<br />

the master of every su^cl} vessel so arriving, shall within<br />

twenty four hours after his vessel shall be moored, deliver<br />

at the health office, a true account of the tonnage of his<br />

vessel, the place from which she arrived, and the number<br />

of seamen and passengers brought in said vessel, and<br />

shall pay at the said office the several sums due according<br />

to the second, third and fourth articles of this chapter.<br />

And every master neglecting to make such payment,<br />

or to deliver such account, shall forfeit one hundred dollars,<br />

and if he deliver a false account with intent to de-<br />

fraud, shall forfeit the sum of five hundred dollars.<br />
