2. Be itfurther enacted* That wnen any person shall<br />

lereafter make any fence or cut any tree or make any<br />

tiier obstructions in or across any public road unless<br />

tioved within two days, such person shall for every<br />

such offence pay a fine not exceeding- fifteen dollars to be<br />

recovered by a warrant under the hand of any justice of<br />

the peace to be applied as is herein before directed; audit<br />

shall be the duty of the overseers of the road, forthwith,<br />

to cause the said obstruction to be removed.<br />

13. Be it further enacted* That, it shall be the duty of<br />

?ach and every overseer of the public roads as aforesaid<br />

to nut up road signs or directions, painted on boards with<br />

capital letters and safely secured on posts or trees, and<br />

at every conspicuous fork of such public roads with-<br />

in his road division, and such overseers shall receive for<br />

n ach road sign so nut up not exceeding" the sum of one<br />

dollar, and for every and each day he shall superintend<br />

the labourers on said road or be actually employed in no-<br />

tifying persons<br />

to work on said roads, more than the<br />

number of days such overseer is assessed to work on the<br />

roads, he shall receive the sum of one dollar per day, to<br />

be allowed by the county court of the proper county, and<br />

paid out of any money which may have been paid into<br />

the county treasury, for fines or forfeitures incurred under<br />

the provisions of this act, not otherwise appro-<br />

priated.<br />

14. Be ii further enacted* That, each justice of the<br />

peace who shall be appointed to perform the duties<br />

which are required of them by the provisions of this act,<br />

•diail be entitled to and receive one dollar for each and<br />

every day they may be employed in the discharge of the<br />

aforesaid duties, to be paid out of any money in the county<br />

treasury not otherwise appropriated, to be allowed by<br />

the county court of the county in which such services may<br />

have been rendered. And if any justice of the peace who<br />

may be appointed to perform the duties aforesaid shall<br />

neglect to perform said duties, such justice shall forfeit<br />

and pay a sum not exceeding fifty dollars, to be recovered<br />

on presentment by the grand jury in the couuty court of<br />

the proper county.<br />

15. Be it further enacted* That each and every commissioner<br />

appointed to view the said public roads shall<br />

receive, one dollar per day for every and each day he shall<br />

be employed in viewing such road or roads as full compensation<br />

for their services to be allowed by the county<br />

court of the county in which services may have been rendered,<br />

and paid out of any money in the county treasury<br />

16. Be it further enacted* That, if any overseer who<br />

may hereafter be appointed under the provisions of this<br />
