Fixing- the place of the next session of the Legislative Council.<br />

Be it enacted by the Governor and Legislative Council<br />

St. Augustine. of the Territory of Florida, That, the next session of the<br />

Legislative Council shall be holden in the city of St Augustine,<br />

in the County of St. Johns.<br />

AN ACT<br />

Regulating the mode ofproceeding- on attachments.<br />

1. Be it enacted by the Governor and Legislative Coun-<br />

cil of the Territory of Florida^ That, it shall be lawful for<br />

any Judge or Justice of the Peace of the Territory, upon<br />

complaint made to him on oath that the defendant is justly<br />

indebted to him in the amount stated, and that he is removing<br />

out of the Territory, or so absconds and conceals himself<br />

that the ordinary process of law cannot be served<br />

upon him, to grant an attachment against the estate of<br />

such debtor, or so much thereof as will be sufficient to<br />

satisfy the debt and costs of such complainant, which attachment,<br />

when the demand is above the sum of twenty<br />

dollars, may be directed to any sheriff, constable or coroner,<br />

and snail be returnable to the next term of the Circuit<br />

Court, for the County in which it issued—and it shall be<br />

lawful for such officer to serve and levy any attachment<br />

upon the slaves, *
