AN ACT<br />
Supplementary to an act entitled " an act to raise a revenue for the<br />
onies in the<br />
1.<br />
Territory of Florida.<br />
Be it enacted by the Ciovevnor and Legislative Coun-<br />
jjids of clerks. cil of the Territory of Florida, That, any sums of money<br />
constituting part of the revenue of this Territory, which<br />
may be paid to the clerks oi the respective counties, or<br />
which may be in the hands of the collectors, previous to<br />
the first day of July next, may be appropriated to the immediate<br />
puymentof the Territorial expenses,<br />
jbursed on war- 2. Be it further enacted, That, the cherks or collectors<br />
it of the Gover- aforesaid, on a warrant sgned by the Governor, or in his<br />
absence, by the Secretary of the Territory, shall authorize<br />
said clerks or collectors to pay to the person therein<br />
named, the sum of money therein expressed, and said<br />
warrant shall be a sufficient voucher of the payment ol<br />
said money, and shall be Received by the Treasurer, and<br />
credited to their account, on their settlement with him<br />
for the revenue.<br />

AN ACT<br />
Concerning- seamen in merchant service,<br />
amen desertine". ** ^e ** enacted by the Governor and Legislative Council<br />
of the Territory of Florida, That if any seaman or mariner<br />
who shall have signed acontractto perform a voyage<br />
on board of any merchant ship or vessel either of<br />
the United Sutes, or of any foreign power whatsoever,<br />
shall at any port or place withm this territory, desert or<br />
shall absent himself from such ship or vessel, without the<br />
leave of the master or other officer, commanding in the<br />
absence of ihe master, it shall be lawful for any justice of<br />
the peace of any county or corporation within this Terri-<br />
tory, upon the complaint of the master, or such other officer<br />
commanding in tne absence of the master, to issue his<br />
warrant to apprehend such seaman or mariner and bring<br />
him before such justice, and if it shall appear by due proof<br />
that such seaman or mariner has signed a contract, as a-<br />
fo re said, and that the voyage agreed for is not finished,<br />
altered or the contract otherwise dissolved, and that the<br />
seaman or mariner lias deserted the ship or vessel, or has<br />
absented himself without leave, the said justice shall<br />
commit him to the jail of his county or corporation, there<br />
to remain until such ship or vessel shall be ready to pro-
