4. Be it further enacted, That, one thousand copies of 1000 copies—anc<br />

the Laws shall be published, one copy ot* which shall be how disposed ot*<br />

delivered to the Governor and Secretary, to each of the<br />

juices of the superior and circuit courts and the clerks<br />

thereof, and two hundred copies deposited in the Secretary's<br />

office, subject to the older of the Governor and Legislative<br />

Council, the residue shall be placed in Pensacola<br />

and St. Augustine under the direction of the Governor,<br />

for sale, and from the sale of saj.d books a reasonable<br />

compensation shall be paid to the persons hereby appointed<br />

for their said services, to be allowed by the Governor,<br />

AN ACT<br />

To provide against unlawful Gaming.<br />

1, Be it enacted by the Governor and Legislative Council<br />

of the 7 erritory of Florida, That, if any person or persons<br />

shall erect or keep an E. O. table, faro bank, or anyother<br />

gaminqr table or bank with the exception of billiard<br />

tables, he shall be subject to a fine of five hundred dollars<br />

for every offence.<br />

2. Be itfurther enacted, That, it shall be the duty of<br />

every judicial officer in this Territory, justices of the<br />

peace and mayors of the cities, whenever he or they shall<br />

be informed of any violation of this act, to issue a warrant<br />

for the apprehension of the offenders, and shall upon<br />

proof of the fact, bind them over to appear at the next<br />

circuit or superior court, to answer the said charge against<br />

him or them, which shall be preferred and prose<br />
