same is hereby created a body politic and corporate in<br />

deed and in law, by the name, style and title, of the corporation<br />

of the City of St. Augustine, which shall have<br />

perpetual succession and shall enjoy all and every the<br />

rights, liberties and privileges, powers and authorities<br />

incident to, and belonging to a corporation, body politic,<br />

or natural person, and by that name may sue and be sued<br />

plead and be impleaded, and take and hold real and personal<br />

estate.<br />

2. Be it further enacted, That, the corporation hereby<br />

created, shall enjoy all the rights, privileges, powers and<br />

immunities granted to and conferred upon the corpora-<br />

tion of the city of Pensacola, by virtue of an act passed at<br />

the present session of the Legislative Council, and entitled<br />

ki an act to incorporate the City of Pensacola, and<br />

improve the public roads in the neighborhood thereof,"<br />

and all the provisions of said act are hereby extended to,<br />

and shall bave full force and effect within the said City of<br />

St. Augustine, except that the election therein provided to<br />

beheld in the City of Pensacola, on the fourth Monday of<br />

August, for Mayor and Aldermen, shall be holden in the<br />

City of St. Augustine on the first Monday of November<br />

next, and on the same day in each and everv vear thereafter.<br />

AN ACT<br />

Providing for the payment of postage paid on communications directed<br />

to the Governor and Secretary of the Territory of Florida.<br />

1. Be it enacted by the Governor and Legislative Council<br />

of the Territory of Florida, That all public letters, documents,<br />

laws and papers, relating to the business of the<br />

Territory aforesaid, on which postage has been, or may<br />

hereafter be charged, directed to the Governor or the Secretary<br />

of the Territory aforesaid, shall be paid out of the<br />

treasury of said Territory on warrant signed by the Governor.<br />

2. Be it further enacted, That, the treasurer aforesaid,<br />

shall render his account for the amount thus paid, annually<br />
