Chapter 4: Source Integrity Interfaces 100 Use Wildcards Use wildcards in the member component. For example, the command: si ci -S c:\work\project.pj brochur.* checks in all members with the base name brochur and any extension. Specify a Member List A member list (specified with the -F member option) is a text file containing the names of the members a command should be applied to. For example, the command: si ci -S c:\work\project.pj -F flist.lst checks in all the members listed in the flist.lst file. Members named in the member element may have any level of path qualification. A member list is a text file containing a list of member names, with each name on a line by itself. When you pass a member list to Integrity Server, it reads the member names and applies the command to them in sequence. You can create a member list with any text editor by typing member names—one name per line—in a plain text file. Alternatively, you can compile a list of members with the find command and copy them to a text file. The find command is a standard UNIX utility and is available on Win32 based systems with MKS Toolkit. MKS Visual Difference Interface The MKS Visual Difference tool is a graphical application that allows you to compare a working file and a member revision, or two revisions. It offers two-way differencing of revisions where differences are highlighted for you. u s e r g u i d e
Application Window MKS Visual Difference Interface Similar to the Source Integrity application window, MKS Visual Difference contains a number of common features explained in this section. Title Bar The title bar is the uppermost component of the application window. On the left side, the title bar displays the name of the application and the member name. On the right side, the title bar displays the standard Windows buttons for minimizing, resizing, and closing the application window. Menu Bar The menu bar is located directly below the title bar. Each menu contains available operations. When you first start MKS Visual Difference, there are three menus in the menu bar: File, View, and Help. The list of available menus and operations varies depending on the function you are performing (for example, working in differences mode or merge mode). 101
