Check Out Dialog Box Tab Revision to Check Out Options<br />

Advanced continued Keywords allows you to select keyword expansion options when checking out a<br />

member. To leave keywords unexpanded, select Do Not Expand from the<br />

Keywords list. To replace keywords in the revision with literal values in the<br />

working file, select Expand from the Keywords list. To unexpand keywords in the<br />

working file, select Unexpand from the Keywords list.<br />

On Lock allows you to select a locked file for check out. To be asked to confirm<br />

the required action each time you check out a member, select Query <strong>User</strong>. To<br />

create a branch upon locking the working file, select Branch. To make the<br />

working file writable upon lock, select Make Writable. To be asked to confirm<br />

branching, select Query <strong>User</strong> to Branch. To be asked to confirm that you<br />

want the working file to be writable, select Query <strong>User</strong> to Make Writable.<br />

To cancel the On Lock option, select Cancel. By default, Source Integrity asks<br />

you to confirm the required action each time you check out a member.<br />

Merge Type (graphical user interface only) specifies the action to be taken when<br />

merging revisions. Select one of the following options from the list:<br />

Confirm causes Source Integrity to confirm the action to be taken when<br />

merging upon check out.<br />

Cancel causes Source Integrity to cancel the operation.<br />

Automatic causes Source Integrity to perform an automatic merge. For more<br />

information on automatic merging, see “Step Two: Merge Branch” on page 345<br />

Manual causes Source Integrity to initiate the MKS Visual Merge tool.<br />

On Conflicts (graphical user interface only) specifies the action to be taken when<br />

merge conflicts occur. Select one of the following options from the list:<br />

Confirm causes Source Integrity to confirm the action to be taken when a<br />

conflict occurs.<br />

Cancel causes Source Integrity to cancel the operation when a conflict<br />

occurs.<br />

Mark For Later Merge causes Source Integrity to mark the files for<br />

merging at another time, allowing you to resolve the conflict first.<br />

Launch Tool causes Source Integrity to initiate the MKS Visual Merge tool.<br />

Highlight Output File causes Source Integrity to highlight conflicts in<br />

the resulting merged revision.<br />

Error causes Source Integrity to display an error message prompt.<br />

You can open a member or a deferred member in your default editor<br />

application.<br />

The default editor is the editor used to display a working file or revision,<br />

for example, Microsoft Windows Notepad or MKS Toolkit’s vi for<br />

Windows editor.<br />

Whether you can edit or just view the contents of the member depends<br />

upon whether you have read-only or read-write access to the member. You<br />

must have a member locked in your name to be able to check it in.<br />
