Chapter 10: Branching and Merging Revisions Automatic Merging on Check Out 350 Highlight Output File causes Source Integrity to complete the merge automatically and highlight the output file where any conflicts occurred. Error causes Source Integrity to display an error message prompt. 6 Under Change Package, select a change package to associate with the merged file from the Change Package list. Click Create to create a new change package for the file. NOTE The Change Package options only appear if the Integrity Manager integration is enabled. 7 To merge the revision, click OK. To merge revisions of more than one member, click OK to All. Source Integrity merges all the changes to the working file on the branch (from the point of branching up to the point of check in) into the member revision for the project. The Automatic Merging on Check Out option allows you to merge a member revision, if it is modified, with your working file upon check out. This option allows you to have the most complete working file available. For more details on merging, see “Merging Revisions” on page 353. To merge revisions automatically on check out in the graphical user interface 1 With a Sandbox view open, select one or more members to check out. 2 Do one of the following: Select Member > Check Out. Merging Branched Revisions 3 Under Options, click the Advanced tab, then click the Merge Working File if Changed check box. 4 To check out a single selected member, click OK. To check out all selected members, click OK to All. If you have made changes to your working file (without a lock), and then attempt to check out the member, the Confirm Working File Update dialog box is displayed. If you want to retain your changes in the working file, click Yes (Yes to All for multiple members). If you do not want to retain your changes in the working file, click No (No to All for multiple members). Depending on the preferences you have set for the check out command (see “Command Preferences” on page 48), Source Integrity takes one of the following actions when a conflict occurs: Source Integrity asks you to confirm the action to be taken.
