Subproject
124
Source Integrity allows you to create large projects composed of smaller
component projects. These smaller projects are known as subprojects.
Subprojects behave in the same way as projects, and can be accessed with
most project and sandbox commands.
Once you create a subproject, it is considered a member of the project. For
suggested best practices on creating subprojects, see the Integrity Server
Installation and Administration Guide.
Components usually fall into the following categories:
source files for creating individual executables
source files for common libraries
graphic files
documentation
This section discusses the procedures for:
creating a subproject
adding a subproject
creating a shared subproject
configuring a subproject
dropping a subproject
You can create a new subproject with the Subproject > Create command.
Once you have created a subproject you can add members and configure
the subproject if necessary.
To create a subproject in the graphical user interface
1 With a Project or Sandbox view open, select the project or sandbox to
add the subproject to.
2 From a Project view, select Project > Subproject > Create.
From a Sandbox view, select Sandbox > Subproject > Create.
The Specify the Subproject to Create on localhost:portnumber dialog
box is displayed.
3 Select the subproject to create, or enter the name for the subproject, for
example, applications.pj.
