Chapter 10: Branching and Merging Revisions Automatic Merging on Resync 352 Source Integrity exits the merge operation and marks the working file with an unresolved merge icon. For information on resolving merges, see “Resolving Merges” on page 367. Source Integrity automatically launches the MKS Visual Merge tool. For information on the MKS Visual Merge tool, see “Working With MKS Visual Merge” on page 361. Any changes to the working file are merged and the member is checked out for editing, indicated by a lock icon, who locked the revision, and when it was locked. The Automatic Merging on Resync option allows you to merge a member revision, if it is modified, with your working file upon resyncing. This option provides you with the most complete working file available. For more details on merging, see “Merging Revisions” on page 353. For more information on resyncing members, see “Resyncing Members” on page 197. Merging Revisions 2 Do one of the following: Select Member > Resynchronize. Click . The Confirm Working File Merge dialog appears. Merging Revisions 3 To merge and resynchronize the member, click Yes (for multiple members, click Yes to All). To cancel the merging and resynchronizing the member, click No (for multiple members, click No to All). Depending on the preferences you have set for the resynchronize command (see “Command Preferences” on page 48), Source Integrity takes one of the following actions when a conflict occurs: Source Integrity asks you to confirm the action to be taken. Source Integrity cancels the operation. Source Integrity exits the merge operation and marks the working file with an unresolved merge icon. For information on resolving merges, see “Resolving Merges” on page 367. Source Integrity automatically launches the MKS Visual Merge tool. For information on the MKS Visual Merge tool, see “Working With MKS Visual Merge” on page 361. The selected member is updated and merged. Source Integrity offers a number of different methods to merge revisions. This section describes the methods of merging revisions automatically or by using the MKS Visual Difference and MKS Visual Merge tools. These tools are available through the graphical user interface only, but can be launched from the command line interface. Command line interface procedures are also included in this section.
