Chapter 6: Member Operations
Unlocking a
Member
200
such as Lock Timestamp, Locker Development Path, Locker Sandbox,
Locker Project, Locker, or Locker Host.
If the locked member is selected in Sandbox or Project view,
information about the lock is displayed in the Member Information
Pane. Lock information is also available as a ToolTip when pointing to
the lock icon.
To manage your locks, see “Managing Revision Locks” on page 328.
When you no longer need the exclusive ability to change a member, you
can unlock it again. This is normally done by default when you check the
member in. You can unlock a member without checking it in, but your
changes will not be recorded if you choose to do so.
Depending on the permissions your administrator has defined, you may
also be able to unlock a revision that is locked by another user.
To unlock a member in the graphical user interface and Web interface
Do one of the following:
With a Project or Sandbox view open, select one or more locked
members to unlock, then do one of the following:
Select Member > Unlock.
Click .
With the Locks for User window open (see “Locks View” on
page 450), select one or more locked members, then select Locks >
Unlock.
The revision is unlocked and the padlock symbol ( ) is removed.
Deferring Member Operations
For certain operations in Source Integrity, you can defer the completion of
the command until a later time. The defer option allows you to see the
effect of the operation in your sandbox without affecting the project. The
deferral of operations is provided as a selectable option in two ways:
through the graphical user interface and in the command line interface as
the --defer option.
