Deleting Revisions<br />

If you know you will never use a revision again, you can delete it,<br />

provided it is not a pending revision associated with a change package in a<br />

state other than Closed or Discarded. For more information, see<br />

“Working With Pending Revisions” on page 335 and “Change Package<br />

Review Process” on page 240.<br />

CAUTION<br />

Only delete a revision when you are certain you will never need it again. Once<br />

you delete a revision, it cannot be retrieved. Any historical checkpoints based<br />

on a particular revision be<strong>com</strong>e invalid if that revision is deleted. A revision<br />

cannot be deleted if it is the starting point (root) of a branch. You should never<br />

delete the head revision of an archive.<br />

To delete a revision in the graphical user interface<br />

1 With a Member History view open, select the revision you want to<br />

delete.<br />

You can only delete one revision at a time in the graphical user<br />

interface.<br />

2 Do one of the following:<br />

Select History > Delete Revision.<br />

Click .<br />

Source Integrity asks you to confirm the deletion.<br />

NOTE<br />

Any existing locks on revisions are removed when those revisions are deleted.<br />

3 To delete the selected revision, click Yes. To keep the selected revision,<br />

click No.<br />

Source Integrity deletes the revision.<br />

When you are working with an evolving body of source files, you can<br />

<strong>com</strong>pare two revisions to see what changes you made from one revision to<br />

the next, or any two specific revisions.<br />
