Chapter 6: Member Operations
Discarding
Changes to a
Member
196
Overwrite Existing File replaces an existing working file in the
sandbox for the new file name.
Defer Rename delays the rename operation in the project until the
deferred operation is submitted. The rename operation in the
sandbox still takes place immediately and Source Integrity
displays the icon.
If the change package reviews are mandatory, select this option to
create a pending entry for this operation at the time of change
package submission. If this option is not enabled, Source Integrity
creates the pending entry at the completion of this procedure. For
more information, see “Change Package Review Process” on
page 240.
6 To complete the rename operation, click OK.
The new member name is displayed in the list of project members.
Source Integrity creates a new, duplicate revision in the archive so that
a change package can be associated with the operation.
If you are sure you do not want to check in a member’s modified working
file, you can revert it to its state before it was checked out.
Reverting a member discards any changes made to a member’s working
file since it was checked out, and then unlocks it.
When you revert a deferred add operation, Source Integrity retains the
working file for the pending member. After the revert operation, the file
becomes a non-member, rather than a former member, because it was
never added to the project.
To discard changes to a member’s working file in the graphical user
interface
1 With a Sandbox, or Member History view open, select one or more
members that are checked out in your name or are modified.
2 From a Sandbox view, do one of the following:
Select Member > Revert.
Click .
From a Member History view, do one of the following:
Select History > Revert.
A confirmation dialog box is displayed if the working file is modified.
