Chapter 10: Branching and Merging Revisions Merging Revisions by Dragging 348 You can merge revisions in the Graphical History view by dragging. The drag-and-drop action initiates the Merge Branch command. For more information on the Graphical History view, see “Graphical History View (GUI)” on page 445. For more information on Dragging, see “Dragging in the Graphical History View (GUI)” on page 448. To merge revisions in the graphical user interface Graphical History view by dragging 1 Select the branch revision you want to merge. 2 Drag the branch revision onto the target revision (the revision you want to merge into). The Merge Branch dialog box is displayed. 3 Specify the Target revision that the working revision is merged into. You can specify a revision by name from the Symbolic list, specify a particular revision from the Revision list, or specify a revision by label from the Label list. u s e r g u i d e
Merging Branched Revisions 4 Specify the Branch revision you want to merge with the Target revision. You can specify a revision by name from the Symbolic list, specify a particular revision from the Revision list, or specify a revision by label from the Label list. 5 Under Options complete the following as required: Select Lock target revision to lock the merged revision when the merge is complete. Select Force Creation of New Branch to automatically create a branch for the merged revision. Select Create Branch if Variant to automatically create a branch for the merged revision if you are working in a variant sandbox. Configure the Merge Type option to specify the method you want to use for merging. Select one of the following from the list: Confirm causes Source Integrity to prompt you for the action to be taken. Cancel causes Source Integrity to cancel the merge operation. Automatic causes Source Integrity to automatically merge the files. Manual causes Source Integrity to launch the MKS Visual Merge tool. Configure the On Conflicts option to specify how you want Source Integrity to handle any conflicts that occur during merging. Select one of the following from the list: Confirm causes Source Integrity to prompt you for the action to be taken. Cancel causes Source Integrity to cancel the merge operation when a conflict occurs. Mark For Later Merge causes Source Integrity to exit the merge operation and mark the working file with an unresolved merge icon. Launch Tool causes Source Integrity to launch the MKS Visual Merge tool. 349
