Chapter 3: Getting Started Using Source Integrity
Command Options
Check In continued Update Member Revision Even on Branch causes Source Integrity to update the
member revision upon check in, even when the locked revision is on a different
branch.
Unexpand Keywords replaces literal values with keywords in the checked in revision.
Force Creation of New Branch causes Source Integrity to create a branch off of the
revision you are checking in.
Save Working File Timestamp sets the timestamp of the revision in the history to the
timestamp of the working file, rather than the time of check in.
Check Out Lock Revision checks out a writable working file, and ensures that no one else can
make changes to the revision while you have it checked out. A revision must be
checked out locked if strict locking is enabled, and you intend to make changes to it.
Overwrite Working File if Changed overwrites the working file even if the member has
changed since it was last checked in.
Overwrite if Deferred Operation Pending overwrites the working file if there is a
deferred operation pending on the member.
Update Member Revision causes the revision you check out to become the new
member revision of the project. For example, if the current project member is listed as
Revision 2.3 and you check out Revision 1.7 with the Update Member option selected,
Revision 1.7 replaces Revision 2.3 as the member of the project.
52
Force Creation of New Branch causes Source Integrity to force the creation of a new
branch on check out, eliminating the chance of a locking conflict.
Merge Working File if Changed automatically merges any changes from the working
file into the revision being checked out.
Restore Revision Timestamp sets the timestamp of the working file (that the revision is
checked out to) to the date and time of the revision in the history. If this option is
cleared, the working file’s timestamp is set to the current date and time.
Create Branch if Variant causes Source Integrity to create a branch off of the revision
you are checking out, if you are working in a variant sandbox and this is the first time
the member is checked out. This reduces the possibility of locking conflicts with the
member while work is being done in the variant and regular sandboxes.
Keywords allows you to select keyword expansion options when checking out a
member. To leave keywords unexpanded, select Do Not Expand from the Keywords
list. To replace keywords in the revision with literal values in the working file, select
Expand from the Keywords list. To replace literal values in the revision with keywords,
select UnExpand from the Keywords list.
On Lock allows you to select the way Source Integrity will handle automatic branching
and merging. To be asked to confirm the required action each time you check out a
member, select Query User. To create a branch upon locking the working file, select
Branch. To make the working file writable upon lock, select Make Writable. To be
asked to confirm branching, select Query User to Branch. To be asked to confirm
that you want the working file to be writable, select Query User to Make
Writable. To cancel the On Lock option, select Cancel.
By default, Source Integrity asks you to confirm the required action each time you
check out a member.
