Importing a
Project
Working With Projects
2 If your administrator has specified multiple server roots, from the
Look in list select a location where you want to create the project.
Otherwise, go to the next step.
If multiple server roots are specified, the Look in list contains the
possible choices. Once you select a location, its name appears in
brackets in the title bar of the dialog box, for example, (c:/). For
more information on multiple server roots, consult your administrator
or see the Integrity Server Installation and Administration Guide.
3 Enter the path and file name, or browse to a location on the Integrity
Server where you want to create the project, for example, C:/
Aurora_Program.
If the project path does not exist on the Integrity Server, the new path
is created.
NOTE
When you specify the name of the new project, Source Integrity automatically
assigns the .pj file extension. If you specify a .pj file extension in uppercase
or mixed case, Source Integrity replaces that file extension with the correct
lowercase .pj file extension. If you specify a file extension other than .pj,
Source Integrity appends the .pj file extension to the file name. For backwards
compatibility, you can import projects and subprojects that do not have the
.pj file extension.
4 Enter a name for the project, for example, project.pj.
IMPORTANT
A single project name can be used only once in the same location.
Source Integrity does not distinguish between project names differing only in
case. For example, if project.pj already exists in C:/Aurora_Program,
you cannot create PROJECT.pj in C:/Aurora_Program. This results in an
error and Source Integrity asks you to specify a different path and file name, or
a different project name.
5 Click OK.
The project appears in a Project view (see “Project View” on page 457).
You can now create a sandbox, then add members to the sandbox. For
more information, see “Working With Sandboxes” on page 135.
When you create a project, it is automatically registered with the Integrity
Server; however, projects created with older versions of Source Integrity
must be imported and registered with the Integrity Server.
