—Named from the transversely striated appearance, caused by<br />

the lines of fructification. " It is distinguished from the preceding<br />

Genus, by its tubular or branched frond, and by the uniformly<br />

transverse disposition of the groupes of seeds. From the following<br />

it differs in the last named character and in the more<br />

highly reticulated structure."<br />
