Frond gelatinous, globose, or lobed, rarely plane and crustaceous,<br />

composed of numerous filaments aggregated together and<br />

issuing from a common base. Filaments articulated, branched;<br />

articulations of the brandies subhyaline, those of the ramuli<br />

coloured.—Name; yjurri, a bristle, and fogsw, to bear; the ramuli<br />

are, in some stage of growth, tipped with long setaceous<br />

points or bristles.<br />
