Seta terminal. Peristome double ? the Older of 16 remote<br />

teeth, arising from within the mouth of the capsule, horizontal<br />

and slightly oblique; the inner obsolete or wanting. Capsule pyriform,<br />

with an apophysis. Calyptra dimidiate, inflated below.<br />

Named from ivrorSov, tvithin, and o^uv, a tooth, on account of the<br />

insertion of the peristome.<br />
