and the districts <strong>of</strong> Doti, Ilam, Kaski, Ramechhap and<br />

Species Description<br />
Medium sized shrew with grey-brown back and pale<br />
yellow-grey undersides, a dark brown tail, which is<br />
paler below. Feet have short pale hairs on the back.<br />
Species Ecology<br />
<strong>The</strong> Indochinese Shrew occurs in agricultural fields<br />
and lightly wooded forests, rice fields and cut-down<br />
forest-farmlands <strong>of</strong> weeds and grass. This shrew is<br />
insectivorous. <strong>The</strong>ir diet is likely to consist mainly <strong>of</strong><br />
insects and worms.<br />
Little is known about the reproductive parameters<br />
<strong>of</strong> the species.<br />

Rationale for assessment: This species is considered<br />

Park, Shukla Phanta Wildlife Reserve and additionally<br />
the district <strong>of</strong> Nuwakot which needs confirmation.<br />
