Species Description<br />
Mature marmots are straw to rusty coloured with<br />
dark brown hair tips, top <strong>of</strong> the head darker. <strong>The</strong> tip<br />
<strong>of</strong> the tail is usually dark brown. Round stomach,<br />
stubby legs, short tail, short and dense coat.<br />
Species Ecology<br />
<strong>The</strong> Bobak Marmot occurs in steppe habitats,<br />
including lowland, mixed grass, arid and steppes,<br />
with a diet mainly consisting <strong>of</strong> bulbs, flowers and<br />
shoots <strong>of</strong> grasses.<br />
This species reproduces once a year with litter size<br />
<strong>of</strong> four to seven young.<br />

Conservation Area, Langtang <strong>National</strong> Park,<br />
Sagarmatha <strong>National</strong> Park and Shey Phoksundo<br />
<strong>National</strong> Park.<br />
Distribution outside <strong>of</strong> Nepal<br />
Kazakhstan, Russian Federation, Ukraine.<br />
