Species Description<br />

A very small bat. Dorsally the pelage is smoky<br />

brown, the ventral surface is grey-ochre. Eyes are<br />

small and barely visible. Large ears and pinkish<br />

coloured mouth.<br />

Species Ecology<br />

This species occurs in warm valleys, forests,<br />

buildings and roosts in caves. This is an insectivorous<br />

species.<br />

Conservation <strong>Status</strong><br />

Global: Least Concern<br />

Occurs around Kathmandu Valley including<br />

Shivapuri Nagarjun <strong>National</strong> Park.<br />

Distribution outside Nepal<br />

Afghanistan, Bangladesh, China, India, Pakistan, Sri<br />

Lanka.<br />

Main Threats<br />

• Habitat degradation.<br />

• Disturbance.<br />
