5. Close the lid of the sound chamber.<br />
6. Press the [LEVEL] button. The sound chamber will level.<br />
7. Exchange the position of the dummy microphone and the test microphone<br />
and plug the battery pill into the battery voltage supply. See Figure 5.1.2B.<br />

5.1.3 Setting up the hearing aid for ANSI<br />
The hearing aid controls must be set to conform with ANSI requirements for<br />
the test results to be valid.<br />
1. Set the controls on the aid (except for the compression controls) to give the<br />
greatest possible output and gain.<br />
2. Set the aid for the widest frequency response range.<br />
3. For ANSI 87 and ANSI 96, set AGC aids to achieve the greatest possible<br />
compression or as otherwise specified by the manufacturer. For ANSI 03, set<br />
AGC aids to have the minimum compression possible or as otherwise specified<br />
by the manufacturer.<br />
4. Put the hearing aid in “test mode,” if applicable. All noise suppression and<br />
feedback cancellation features should be turned off.<br />
5. Set the gain control of the aid to the full-on position.<br />
6. Set the aid up in the sound chamber as described in Section 3.3.<br />
5.1.4 Setting up the analyzer for ANSI<br />
1. Enter the ANSI test screen as described in Section 5.1.1.<br />
2. Use [F1] to select LEFT or RIGHT ear.<br />
3. Use [F2] to select the aid type: LINEAR, AGC or ADAPTIVE AGC. (Press<br />
[F2]. Use [,] to choose the selection. Press [] to complete the selection<br />
and close the pop-up menu.)
