3.8 Custom Functions for F7/F8
The [F7] and [F8] keys can be customized to perform many different functions.
This allows you to quickly adjust settings without going into the local menu.
The following functions are available:
• Display: Switch between Gain and SPL.
• Coupler: Change the coupler type (2cc, CIC).
• Bias Ampl: Change the amplitude of the bias signal (see Section 3.5.3)
• Static: Turn on/off single tone or three frequency average (see Sections
3.4.5 and 3.4.6).
• Batt Size: Change the battery size. This is used in battery current drain
measurements.
• Aid Type: Change the aid type (Standard, AGC, Adaptive AGC). This
affects the delay times used in pure-tone sweeps and Digital Speech.
• Off/Prev: Switch between the signal being in spectrum analysis mode
(source off but measurement running) and at the previous selected amplitude
level.
• Data/Graph: Switch between displaying test results in numerical format
and graphical format.
The F7/F8 selections are set in the local menu. In the Coupler Multicurve
screen, press [MENU] to open the local menu. Change the F7 and F8 selections
using the arrow keys. The default selection for these settings can be changed in
the Setup Menu. See Sections 2.2.1 and 2.2.4 for details.
3.9 Complete List of Menu Items
The function of all items in the local menu of the Coupler screen are described
in this section. Enter the local menu by pressing [MENU] in the Coupler screen.
Selections are made by using [, ] to choose an item and [, ] to change the
setting.
There is a dotted or dashed line in between an item and its selection. If the line
is dotted, the selection will only effect the Coupler screen. If the line is dashed,
the selection is global and will have an effect on other measurement screens.
The local menu is divided into five main categories: Display, Measurement,
Source, Aid and Misc Settings. To skip ahead to the next category, use the
[START] button.
Display Settings
• Data/Graph: The method of data display. Choose between DATA (numerical
data) and GRAPH.
