Figure 15: Coordination of essential metabolic pathways by supercoiling sensitivity.
The Rel (red) or Hyp (blue) preference of the genes in the regulation of oxaloacetate production and
glyoxylate bypass in citric acid cycle (A) and coordination of de novo biosynthesis of purine nucleotides
(B) are indicated.
Certain relevant genes which were missing in the microarray data like aceB,
glcB, sucC and sdhD were investigated by performing Real-time PCR (RT-PCR) (Table
3). In addition randomly selected genes of purine biosynthesis pathway were
investigated to validate the quality of the microarray results. These results are in
keeping with the inferences from the analyses of microarray data.
