present for 2 months. A local softtissue<br />

swelling involves the fifth digit<br />

of the left rear foot. There is marked<br />

destruction of the third phalanx of<br />

this digit. There is a small amount of<br />

soft-tissue calcification cranially <strong>and</strong><br />

laterally. There is no evidence of<br />

periosteal proliferation. Diagnosis:<br />

Squamous cell carcinoma of the digit.<br />

suggesting a soft-tissue mass invading bone. Minimal periosteal response is present. Diagnosis:<br />

Liposarcoma.<br />
