Intervertebral Disc Prolapse. Intervertebral disc prolapse may occur as a result of trauma.<br />

Approximately 10% of dogs with spinal trauma have disc herniation. 238 A narrowed intervertebral<br />

disc, alteration in contour <strong>and</strong> size of the intervertebral foramen, <strong>and</strong> collapse of<br />

the interarcuate space may be observed. Myelography may be required to evaluate the<br />

extent of the spinal cord injury.
