Overview<br />
Human Resources Administration – Directs the Authority's initiatives toward adding<br />
value <strong>and</strong> being responsive to the dem<strong>and</strong>s of a dynamic business environment. The<br />
principal areas of focus are: employee programs, quality internal customer service,<br />
organization effectiveness, training, compliance with policies <strong>and</strong> procedures <strong>and</strong> the<br />
development of initiatives that promote our vision, mission <strong>and</strong> goals.<br />
Employee Services – Administers the employee benefits programs, including medical,<br />
dental, prescription, life insurance, long term disability, supplemental insurance, COBRA,<br />
pension, deferred compensation, supplemental voluntary benefits <strong>and</strong> flexible benefits,<br />
compensation, <strong>and</strong> Medical Department services including employee assistance<br />
program, absence management, wellness, drug testing, salary compensation, <strong>and</strong><br />
Human Resources Information System (HRIS).<br />
Recruitment <strong>and</strong> Talent Management – Directs the recruitment, hiring, testing,<br />
transferring <strong>and</strong> retention of a diverse workforce including union <strong>and</strong> management<br />
employees.<br />
Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action/Employee Relations –<br />
Implements <strong>and</strong> promotes the Authority’s EEO/AA Program to address the needs of an<br />
increasingly diverse workplace. Ensures compliance with applicable policies,<br />
employment laws <strong>and</strong> regulations to prevent discrimination <strong>and</strong> harassment <strong>and</strong><br />
investigates complaints filed internally <strong>and</strong> externally. H<strong>and</strong>les a wide variety of<br />
employee relations <strong>and</strong> monitors the Authority’s Performance Improvement Plan.<br />
Operations Training <strong>and</strong> Management Development – Provides training <strong>and</strong><br />
development programs to reinforce high performance. Teaches new skills <strong>and</strong> retrains<br />
employees as required to ensure a comprehensive underst<strong>and</strong>ing of regulations,<br />
procedures, policies <strong>and</strong> skills to provide quality customer service in a safe environment.<br />
Prepare a customer-focused, multigenerational workforce to assume critical roles <strong>and</strong><br />
responsibilities in the organization.<br />
