Operations<br />
Overview<br />
The Operations Division provided approximately 334 million annual (unlinked) passenger<br />
trips in Fiscal Year 2011, while operating 97.6 million vehicle miles. Total passenger<br />
miles exceeded 1.4 billion. The Division operates <strong>and</strong> maintains 2,750 revenue vehicles<br />
on 144 fixed routes, which have approximately 1,880 route miles, operates <strong>and</strong> maintains<br />
an inventory of 949 assorted non-revenue support vehicles <strong>and</strong> equipment, <strong>and</strong> provides<br />
service to 280 stations using over 450 miles of track <strong>and</strong> related facilities. In addition,<br />
Operations ensures law enforcement within the transportation system.<br />
The Operations Division includes Administration <strong>and</strong> Finance, Surface Transportation,<br />
Control Center, Customized Community Transportation, Labor Relations, Transit Police,<br />
Rail Transportation <strong>and</strong> Vehicle Engineering <strong>and</strong> Maintenance.<br />
