2007 OSC Readiness Training Program Evaluation Report Comments on course content • Great link to real events. • Great case studies. (Two responses) • Application and how the forms come into play was the most useful. • Really liked the explosion/ink site as case study. It helped to illustrate documentation at a real incident. (Two responses) • Very good orientation on the type and importance of documentation. • Examples of real removals were helpful. • Examples are great; a flowchart/chronology of the Danvers response would be an interesting addition. • Under “why is documentation important,” insert a slide on what drives documentation for FEMAlead NRP responses. • It may be helpful and interesting to hear from an attorney about cost recovery documentation issues. Comments on instructional methods and materials • Great course. (Two responses) • Presenters made the topic interesting by incorporating “real life” scenarios. • Good audience participation – instructors engaged group. (Two responses) • Good format allowing questions/discussion during the presentation. • It was a good review to run through each of the different forms. • Copies of the forms on the wall were a good idea. • Need more hands-on activities. • The handout slides did not match the presentation slides, they were hard to read and they had too much detail. (Four responses) • Handouts should include examples of all the types of documents mentioned for removal actions. • Discussions sometimes strayed away from documentation discussions into other areas. (Two responses) • Add full-sized Incident Action Plan to class handouts — slides are too hard to read in book. • Pace was varied. There was not enough time for Ms. Young to cover ICS Documents/Forms. Comments on recommending course to colleagues • Would recommend for RSCs, but not for OSCs. • Would recommend especially for new OSCs. • Senior directors should “encourage” OSC attendance as primary technical response group kickoff.
