This 4-hour advanced interactive course focused on legal issues that <strong>OSC</strong>s should understand to assist<br />
staff at EPA and the Department of Justice during cost recovery efforts and the litigation process. By<br />
taking the course, participants achieved the following objectives:<br />
• Learned to identify and document evidence.<br />
• Gained an understanding of how to assist in the preparation of written discovery and responses.<br />
• Prepared for depositions and testifying in court.<br />
The instructional methodology for this interactive course included lectures, case studies, and mock trial<br />
participation. The target audience for this course was <strong>OSC</strong>s of all levels, enforcement coordinators, and<br />
other support staff involved in cost recovery efforts.<br />
