2.2.5 After-Hour Activities<br />

Several after-hour activities were planned during the week to bring participants together in informal<br />

settings. Activities included a welcome reception sponsored by the Deauville Beach Resort on Monday<br />

night and the famous “Gumbo Fest” on Thursday night.<br />

2.3 Participants<br />

More than 446 2 people participated in the <strong>2007</strong> <strong>OSC</strong> Readiness Training Program. A total of 464<br />

individuals pre-registered. Appendix E provides the final list of registrants, arranged alphabetically by<br />

last name, and includes information about how to contact each participant. Appendix F provides the same<br />

information but it is arranged by the affiliation according to agency.<br />

2.3.1 Overall Participation<br />

Participants in the <strong>2007</strong> <strong>OSC</strong> Readiness Training Program included <strong>OSC</strong>s, RSC staff, EPA regional<br />

removal and emergency response support staff, branch chiefs, CICs, RPMs, regional attorneys, members<br />

of the ERT, and 16 representatives from other federal agencies, such as the USCG, TVA, U.S.<br />

Department of Labor’s OSHA, U.S. Department of Agriculture’s U.S. Forest Service, U.S. Department of<br />

the Interior’s National Park Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife, ATSDR, USACE, DOE, U.S. Army’s<br />

Chemical Materials Agency, and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). Other participants included<br />

approximately 26 representatives of states agencies and eight local responders. Exhibit 1 presents a<br />

summary of the participants by job title. Exhibit 2 illustrates the number of EPA <strong>OSC</strong>s by region.<br />

Exhibit 3 illustrates the number of EPA Headquarters participants by program office. Exhibit 4<br />

categorizes participants by affiliation, including EPA regional offices, EPA Headquarters, the ERT, the<br />

National Decontamination Team (NDT), other federal agencies, state agencies, local responders, and<br />

academia.<br />

2.3.2 Participation by Training Course<br />

Details about participation at each of the training courses are provided in Table 1. These details include<br />

the number of students by job title, the total number of students, and the percentage of students who are<br />

<strong>OSC</strong>s. The courses are sorted alphabetically. Details about the students (total number of attendees and<br />

their job titles) for each course are provided in Appendix C, Comments about Individual Training<br />

Courses.<br />
