Summarized below are the written comments provided on the evaluation forms. Similar observations
have been combined and paraphrased.
Comments on course content
• Great delivery of the statutes of upcoming changes to NCP implementation.
• USACE and NIMS were the most interesting and informative presentations.
• First section was beyond my technical competence.
• Course was slightly above my experience level (6 months as an OSC).
• Include a quick review of the NRP, or at least an outline of the ESFs.
• Include more detail, such as a panel on FEMA.
• Shorten the NRP section; information is dry.
• Course will need to be revised and adjusted based on the current state of our involvement and
changes in federal response plans and organization. (Two responses)
Comments on instructional methods and materials
• Add a panel discussion for a particular parish and specific ideas of what worked, what did not,
suggestions and quick remedies.
• Not enough discussions, case studies or visual aides to break up the lecture; because of this, the
lecture dragged on. (Three responses)
• Go through the standard information quicker.
• Handouts were not helpful or had poor choices in font size and color. (Two responses)
