<strong>2007</strong> <strong>OSC</strong> Readiness Training Program <strong>Evaluation</strong> <strong>Report</strong><br />

Daily plenary sessions were held each morning of the <strong>2007</strong> <strong>OSC</strong> Readiness Training Program. Topics<br />

addressed during the week are listed below.<br />

Opening Plenary Speakers, Monday, February 12:<br />

• <strong>OSC</strong>s’ Role in Response — Mr. Stephen Johnson, Administrator, EPA<br />

Day 3 Plenary Speaker, Wednesday, February 14:<br />

• Protecting the Nation’s Water Infrastructure — Debbie Dewberry, Chief, Security Assistance<br />

Branch of the Water Security Division (WSD), EPA Office of Ground Water and Drinking Water<br />

Day 4 Plenary Speaker, Thursday, February 15:<br />

• Because of inclement weather, the plenary speaker was unable to attend. A video produced by<br />

the U.S. Chemical Safety Board was shown instead.<br />

Closing Plenary Speakers, Friday, February 16:<br />

• Then and Now…Ten Years of <strong>OSC</strong> Readiness — Ms. Debbie Dietrich, Director, EPA OEM<br />

• Removal Manager <strong>Report</strong> Out — Dennis Carney, Removal Manager, EPA Region 3<br />

• Hot Sites presented: (1) Cherokee Oil Spill by Mr. Terrence Byrd, <strong>OSC</strong>, EPA Region 4;<br />

(2) Davensport Explosion site by Mr. Ted Bazenas and Mr. Dan Wainberg, <strong>OSC</strong>s, EPA Region 1;<br />

and (3) The Poudre River Site by Mr. Paul Peronard, <strong>OSC</strong>, EPA Region 8.<br />

2.2.2 EPA Working Luncheons<br />

Working luncheons for participants at the <strong>OSC</strong> training program were sponsored on Monday, February<br />

12, and Wednesday, February 14. Monday’s working luncheon featured Mr. Tom Dunne, associate<br />

administrator, EPA Office of Homeland Security, who provided an update on homeland security issues<br />

that face EPA. On Wednesday, Mr. Frank Docimo, president and chief executive officer, Docimo and<br />

Associates, provided a presentation on issues that face responders.<br />
