Chapter 12: <strong>Land</strong> <strong>Use</strong> <strong>Code</strong><br />
§ 5.04 Fences and Walls<br />
(a) Height <strong>of</strong> fences. In any residential district or along the common boundary between any<br />
residential or nonresidential district where a wall, fence or screening separation is erected or<br />
where a screening wall or fence is required by Ordinance, resolution, regulation or law the<br />
following standards for height and design shall be observed.<br />
(1) Fences and walls shall be erected in accordance with the requirements <strong>of</strong> Sec. 5.02<br />
(i) (3), Corner visibility.<br />
(2) Barbed wire fences are prohibited.<br />
(b)<br />
Exterior building materials.<br />
(1) B-1 zone district. At least a two hour, exterior fire wall is required by the<br />
Uniform Building <strong>Code</strong> for all non-residential and mixed use structures with less<br />
than twenty feet (20') <strong>of</strong> separation between buildings. Masonry exterior walls are<br />
the preferred building material in this circumstance due to historic precedent on<br />
Grand Avenue.<br />
