Chapter 7: <strong>Land</strong> <strong>Use</strong> <strong>Code</strong><br />
establishment that provides lodging and breakfast for temporary overnight occupants in no more than<br />
five separate bedrooms for compensation. In addition to residential <strong>of</strong>f-street parking requirements,<br />
a bed and breakfast shall provide one <strong>of</strong>f-street parking space per bedroom <strong>of</strong>fered for use for<br />
temporary overnight accommodations.<br />
Billboard: An outdoor advertising sign placed along a right-<strong>of</strong>-way; billboards generally are<br />
prohibited in the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Norwood</strong>.<br />
Block: An area enclosed by streets and occupied by or intended for buildings; or if said word is used<br />
as a term <strong>of</strong> measurement, it shall mean the distance along a side <strong>of</strong> a street between the nearest two<br />
(2) streets that intersect said street.<br />
Board <strong>of</strong> Adjustment: The <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Norwood</strong> Board <strong>of</strong> Adjustment as established in Chapter 6.13<br />
<strong>of</strong> the <strong>Land</strong> <strong>Use</strong> <strong>Code</strong>.<br />
Board <strong>of</strong> Trustees: The governing and legislative body <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Norwood</strong>, <strong>Colorado</strong>.<br />
Boarding House or Rooming House: A building, other than a hotel or motel, where lodging and/or<br />
meals for three (3) or more persons are provided for compensation.<br />
Bridle Path: See "Trail."<br />
Building: Any structure built for the support, shelter and enclosure <strong>of</strong> persons, animals, chattels or<br />
movable property <strong>of</strong> any kind. When subdivided in a manner sufficient to prevent the spread <strong>of</strong> fire,<br />
each portion so subdivided may be deemed a separate building. Building includes yurts, removable<br />
sheds, and similar uses, but does not include signs or fences.<br />
Building Material Yard and Construction Office, Temporary: A yard or building for storing or<br />
housing building material and building equipment in conjunction with an approved construction or<br />
development project on a temporary basis.<br />
Building Official: The Building Inspector charged with the responsibility <strong>of</strong> issuing permits and<br />
enforcing on behalf <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong> the Uniform Building <strong>Code</strong>, or other building code adopted by the<br />
<strong>Town</strong>, and <strong>Land</strong> <strong>Use</strong> <strong>Code</strong>, including any amendments, or that person's designee.<br />
Building Permit: A permit issued by the Building Official, after approval <strong>of</strong> a Zoning<br />
Development Permit, that allows a developer to erect, construct, reconstruct, excavate for a<br />
foundation, alter or change the use <strong>of</strong> a building or other structure or improvements <strong>of</strong> land.<br />
Campground: A tract <strong>of</strong> land designed for use by temporary or short term occupancy for travel,<br />
recreation or vacation.<br />
Caretaker or Guard Residence: Dwelling facilities located on a premise occupied by a permitted<br />
main use for the housing <strong>of</strong> persons and their families who are employed on the premises as guards,<br />
caretakers or in similar custodial capacity.<br />
