(f) Additional Requirements:<br />
1. Lighting attached to single-family home structures shall not exceed the height<br />
<strong>of</strong> the eave.<br />
2. Residential pole height restrictions can be considered to control light trespass<br />
on adjacent properties.<br />
3. Architectural lighting shall not be allowed.<br />
(g) <strong>Use</strong> <strong>of</strong> Mercury Vapor Lighting Fixtures. No new mercury vapor outdoor<br />
lighting fixtures shall be sold or installed after January 1, 2009.<br />

Definitions:<br />
Fully Shielded. A fixture that is shielded in such a manner that light rays emitted<br />
by the fixture, either directly from the lamp or indirectly from the fixture, are<br />
projected below a horizontal plane running through the lowest point on the fixture<br />
where light is emitted.<br />
Glare.<br />
Intense and blinding light that causes visual discomfort or disability.<br />
<strong>Land</strong>scape lighting. Luminaries mounted in or at grade (but not more than 3 feet<br />
above grade) and used solely for landscape rather than any area lighting.<br />
Luminaire (light fixture). A complete lighting unit consisting <strong>of</strong> one or more<br />
electric lamps, the lamp holder, any reflector or lens, ballast (if any), and any other<br />
components and accessories.<br />
Obtrusive light. Spill light that causes glare, annoyance, discomfort, or loss <strong>of</strong><br />
visual ability. Light pollution.<br />
Outdoor light fixture. An outdoor artificial illuminating devices, lamps and other<br />
devices, permanent or portable, used for illumination or advertisement. Such<br />
devices shall include, but are not limited to, search, spot or flood lights for buildings<br />
and structures, recreational areas, parking lot lighting, landscape lighting, billboards<br />
and other signage and street lighting.<br />
Spill light. Light from a lighting installation that falls outside <strong>of</strong> the<br />
boundaries <strong>of</strong> the property on which it is located. Usually results in obtrusive light.<br />
