Chapter 7: <strong>Land</strong> <strong>Use</strong> <strong>Code</strong><br />
§ 3.12 P, Public District<br />
(a) Purpose and intent. The P, Public District is designed primarily to accommodate the<br />
development <strong>of</strong> governmental and quasi-governmental facilities for the cultural, education, civic,<br />
recreation and other governmental purposes. It is intended for application to areas that are<br />
currently publicly owned. In addition to the use and area regulations <strong>of</strong> this section, development<br />
in the P, Public District shall be in compliance with all other applicable provisions <strong>of</strong> this<br />
chapter.<br />
(b) Permitted uses. The following uses shall be permitted in the P, Public District, subject<br />
to compliance with any applicable conditions and all other provisions <strong>of</strong> this chapter.<br />
Accessory use or structure, subject to Sec. 3.05(d)(1)<br />
Caretaker or guard residence<br />
Church or place <strong>of</strong> worship<br />
Day camp for children<br />
Day care center<br />
Day care home<br />
Fire station<br />
Essential services<br />
Events center or Fairgrounds<br />
Equestrian center<br />
Fraternal club or lodge<br />
Heliport<br />
Library<br />
Museum<br />
Park<br />
Public building, shop or yard<br />
Radio, TV or microwave tower<br />
Sewage pump station<br />
School, elementary or secondary<br />
Studio, radio or television<br />
Water treatment, storage or pump station<br />
(c) Conditional uses. The following uses shall be permitted in the P, Public District only<br />
upon approval <strong>of</strong> a conditional use permit by the Board <strong>of</strong> Trustees in accordance with the<br />
procedures and standards <strong>of</strong> Sec. 6.10, Conditional use permits.<br />
