Chapter 7: <strong>Land</strong> <strong>Use</strong> <strong>Code</strong><br />
§ 6.19 Zoning Development Permits<br />
(a) Applicability. No building permit may be issued and no person(s) may engage in any<br />
development within the incorporated area <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Norwood</strong> without obtaining a<br />
development permit (Appendix "A" to this <strong>Code</strong>). Failure to comply with any condition(s) <strong>of</strong><br />
approval, as determined by the Board <strong>of</strong> Trustees, shall result in inability to obtain any rights<br />
granted conditionally thereunder, in accordance with <strong>Land</strong> <strong>Use</strong> <strong>Code</strong> subsection 6.11(b)(1), and<br />
<strong>Town</strong> revocation <strong>of</strong> the development permit upon 30 day notice to the Developer and opportunity<br />
for hearing and <strong>Town</strong> determination <strong>of</strong> non-compliance with conditions.<br />
§ 6.20 Certificates <strong>of</strong> Occupancy<br />
(a) Applicability. No building hereafter erected, converted or structurally altered shall be used<br />
or occupied and no land or nonresidential building may be changed in use unless or until a<br />
Certificate <strong>of</strong> Occupancy shall have been issued by the Building Official <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Norwood</strong><br />
stating that the building or proposed use <strong>of</strong> land or building complies with the provisions <strong>of</strong> this<br />
chapter and other building and health laws <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Town</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Norwood</strong>.<br />
(b) Application. A Certificate <strong>of</strong> Occupancy shall be applied for coincident with the<br />
application for a Building Permit and will be issued within ten (10) days after the completion <strong>of</strong> the<br />
erection, alteration or conversion <strong>of</strong> such building or land provided such construction or change has<br />
been made in complete conformity to the provisions <strong>of</strong> this chapter.<br />
(c) Record. A record <strong>of</strong> all certificates shall be kept on file in the <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> the Building<br />
Official, and copies shall be furnished, on request, to any person having a proprietary or tenancy<br />
interest in the land or building affected.<br />
