9. THE SLOGAN – 1978
A piece of navy blue cloth (1 x 12 m) with white stenciled letters was hung on riverbank. The inscription
said: ―I WONDER WHY I LIED TO MYSELF THAT I HAD NEVER BEEN HERE AND WAS
TOTALLY IGNORANT OF THIS PLACE – IN FACT, IT‘S JUST LIKE ANYWHERE ELSE HERE,
ONLY THE FEELING IS STRONGER AND INCOMPREHENSION DEEPER‖.

10. THE THIRD VARIANT
The invited audience (20 persons approx.) gathered on one side of a field. On their right, 50 meters away
from the viewers, one participant appeared, dressed in purple robe. He walked along a line parallel to
viewers and lied down into a pit, thus disappearing from sight. Three minutes later his figure appeared
from another pit, 30 meters to the left from the first one. He wore the same purple robe, but with a red
balloon instead of head. He then pierced the balloon with a stick, and it burst into a cloud of white dust.
The now headless man lied back to the pit from which he had appeared moments ago. At the same time
he rose from the first pit (30 meters to the right), this time in casual clothes, and left for the woods in the
same direction from which he had emerged in the beginning of the action.

10. TIME OF ACTION
In a forest not far from the field‘s edge a reel with seven kilometers of white rope was hung between two
trees. The reel was hung in such a way that it could not be seen from the opposite side of field where in a
distance of 200 meters through broken ground one end of the rope was drawn and where the audience (20
persons) and two participants of the actions were waiting (the third participant stood by the reel in the
woods).
From 13:30 to 15:00 (an hour and a half) the participants and some of the audience in turns were hauling
upon the rope. As its other end had not been attached to the reel, the rope was completely extracted in
process.
