144 envelopes crafted from white and coloured paper were interfolded and compiled into 12 sets of 12
envelopes each (the largest one 40x42 cm in size, the smallest 13x8 cm). Each envelope contained a
description of shape-generating points of the happening, according to the following paradigm: 1 –
guidelines for the audience, 2 – timeline of the whole action, 3 – setting, 4 – weather, 5 – color of the
envelopes, 6 – sound, 7 – phenomenon, 8 – end time of a gesture (action), 9 – the audience‘s reaction, 10
– meaning of a gesture (action), 11 – interpretation, directive, 12 – factography. These sets were
distributed among invited guests who had gathered on the field (30 persons, 12 of them received sets).
While the viewers were unsealing the envelopes and arranging them in a line on the snow (approx. 50
meters long), three participants crossed the field and disappeared in woods on the opposite side. After
reading inscriptions on the envelopes the viewers folded and pasted each set of envelopes to form 12
colored ―framework‖ pictures: the largest envelope on the bottom, a smaller one on it and so on. All of
the inscriptions, except for factographic text (i.e. place and time of action, list of participants etc), became
hidden under envelopes. Later these pictures were distributed among the audience as factual certificate of
the action.
The invited viewers were brought by three participants to a field and positioned in 50 meters‘ distance
from a forest. Then two participants moved away from the audience and relocated 200 meters to the left.
At the same time the third participant moved to the same distance to the right. Then one of the two men
on the left side (let him be called ―the first man‖) disappeared in the woods. The second one on the left
advanced 20 meters towards the audience.
In 5 minutes 20 seconds (after traveling 400 meters to the right through the forest, invisible to the
audience) the first participant went out of the forest on the right and stopped some 5 meters away from the
third man. They both moved another 20 meters towards the audience, parallel to each other and line of the
forest, and the first man disappeared between the trees again. The third participant advanced 20 meters
along the forest towards the viewers.
In 4 minutes 50 seconds (after traveling 360 meters leftwards through the woods) the first participant
appeared on the audience‘s left and, after repeating the original movement with the second man,
disappeared in the woods. The second participant advanced 20 meters along the forest towards the
viewers.
