The rope shown above is designated: 6x19 FC RH OL FSWR. Each <strong>of</strong> the designations in this<br />

example has multiple alternatives, making for many possible combinations.<br />

End terminations are fittings <strong>of</strong> various types swaged to the end <strong>of</strong> the strand or wire rope.<br />

Many standard fittings are provided as options by wire rope fabricators, although these may<br />

not meet the aesthetic standards <strong>of</strong> a design. Because the exposed structures used with<br />

structural glass facades and the emphasis on craftsmanship and design detailing, end<br />

fittings are sometimes custom designed. An increasing diversity <strong>of</strong> cable termination fittings<br />

is available from the many small manufacturing firms producing glass-fixing components.<br />
