Methods<br />

Depending on the façade program, the grid module can be determined by one <strong>of</strong> two basic<br />

methods.<br />

If global façade dimensions are know, the grid can be generated by dividing the vertical<br />

dimension into a number <strong>of</strong> equal segments, and the horizontal dimension into a number <strong>of</strong><br />

equal segments. This is the most typical approach.<br />

Alternately, if addressed early enough in the design process, the global façade dimensions<br />

can be generated as a multiple <strong>of</strong> the glazing grid. This method is used when the glass grid<br />

is to match a predefined building grid or when the designer wants to use a particular size <strong>of</strong><br />

glass.<br />
