5.2.2.3 Reference Materials<br />

Reference materials are a key part <strong>of</strong> any resource, and websites are an excellent means <strong>of</strong><br />

providing convenient and easy access to these materials. Reference materials include<br />

relevant papers, articles, case studies, system and product descriptions and specifications,<br />

example details, and links to related manufacturer’s websites.<br />

5.2.2.4 Learning Programs<br />

Tools are not enough by themselves. Users must be taught how to use the tools for them to<br />

be effective. And it takes more than a hammer to build a house; the user must learn the<br />

context, the full breadth <strong>of</strong> the technology in which the tool will be used. This is a critical<br />

component <strong>of</strong> any effective resource, and vital to enabling aspiring adopters. A tutorialbased<br />

learning program for structural glass facades is developed here within the context <strong>of</strong><br />

the AIA/CES guidelines (see Chapter 4.3.4).<br />
