b. Entering the appropriate information in the
right most column, if applicable:
•for Use Default - a default value
•for Data in File Column - enter the column
number
•for Block Header Cell - enter the cell (as
entered in an application like Excel) in
the plate block header lines.
11.Repeat this for each field listed.
12.Click Finish.
The new File Import Template is defined and
ready for use.
Importing Data
If the protocol tables and a File Import Template
compatible with the data file being imported have
been defined, data can be imported through the use
of the File Import Wizard.
To import data:
4. Select an import template.
5. Click Next.
The second window appears.
6. Use the browse button to browse to the data
files you would like to import.
7. Click Next.
8. Enter the appropriate information, if the
wizard asks. This window will differ depending
on the File Import Template being used.
9. Click Next.
The Import File screen appears.
1. Open the protocol (select the protocol in the
Navigator).
2. Click on the Tasks Tab.
3. Click Import a Data File.
10.Select the checkbox if you would like to view
the data in the data tables before importing.
11.Click Finish.
The appropriate table is populated with data. If
any fields in the protocol tables are
calculations, those calculations are made.
